The Comprehensive Organizational Health Analysis (COHA)

Leadership teams often know their organization has operational gaps — but not exactly where they are, how serious they are, or which ones matter most. The Comprehensive Organizational Health Analysis (COHA) answers those questions through both quantitative scoring and qualitative insight across six operational dimensions.

The Six Pillars

The COHA assesses organizational health across six interdependent dimensions:

Leadership & Accountability
Whether leadership decisions, expectations, and accountability structures function consistently across the organization.

Systems
The operational infrastructure that supports the full organization — workflows, documentation, technology, and coordination across departments.

Training & Workforce Development
Onboarding, supervision, competency development, and the systems that produce sustained workforce capability across all functions.

Quality of Care
The standards, processes, and oversight mechanisms that ensure consistent service delivery across programs, departments, and locations.

Outcomes
How the organization measures effectiveness, tracks meaningful data, and uses outcomes to drive performance improvement.

Culture
The lived experience of working in the organization — psychological safety, alignment with mission, and whether staff feel positioned to perform at their best.

How It Works

The COHA is administered to leadership and staff across the organization. Multi-respondent design is not a design preference — it is a methodological necessity. An assessment answered only by leadership captures only what leadership believes to be true. An assessment answered only by frontline staff captures only what they experience. The COHA captures both, and every level in between, and produces a picture no single respondent could describe on their own.

Respondents complete the assessment confidentially. Individual responses are never shared with the organization. Results are aggregated, analyzed, and returned to leadership in a structured report reviewed together in a confidential consultation.

What Leadership Receives

The COHA produces three outputs:

A Composite Organizational Health Score
A single quantitative measure of overall operational health, delivered on a normalized scale that allows comparison to benchmarks and repeat administration over time.

Pillar-Level Scores
Individual scores for each of the six pillars, revealing where the organization is strong, where it is average, and where it is at risk.

An Organizational Profile
A named pattern describing how the organization is functioning as a whole — the intersection of the pillar scores that captures the broader story the data is telling.

These outputs are reviewed in a confidential leadership consultation that identifies the priority areas requiring intervention and outlines the operational implications of the findings.

Why the COHA is Different

Most consulting engagements begin with a discovery process — interviews, document review, casual observation. Discovery has a place, but it does not produce quantitative data, it cannot be compared to benchmarks, and it depends heavily on which questions the consultant thinks to ask.

The COHA starts differently. Every organization takes the same assessment, answers the same structured questions, and receives outputs on the same scale. That means the diagnostic conversation begins from evidence rather than impression — and it means Wagner Executive Partners can tell the difference between a normal operational gap and one that signals genuine risk.

Complimentary

The COHA is offered at no cost. This is intentional.

Behavioral health organizations deserve to understand their operational health before they ever sign a consulting contract. Withholding that understanding behind a paywall would misalign incentives from the start. Wagner Executive Partners believes the strongest engagements are the ones organizations enter with clarity — and the COHA is designed to produce that clarity.

There is no obligation to continue past the diagnostic and consultation.
